RelicRecord Feature Update

Feature Update

Hello everyone. Will and I have been hard at work the past few months, making improvements to the RelicRecord.com user experience. This post will highlight just a few of those improvements. You can view a full list here. Thank you to everyone for your feedback, ideas, and suggestions. If you don’t see your feature recommendations just yet, don’t worry, we keep a list!

Add Item page

When adding a new item, some fields have been grouped into tabs according to the type of information. On the “Details” tab, we have added a new Item Location drop down to allow you to have a custom list of Locations to choose from.

The list of locations can be managed by clicking the “Manage Locations” link or by going to your “Settings” page (from the top menu) and clicking the link “Manage”. From there you can assign a name, address, and even primary and secondary contact information.

If you click on the Insurance tab, you will see three new fields that will allow you to assign Insurance information to that specific Item.

If you look closely at some of the screen captures above, you will also see that we added a Currency type drop down next to value/price fields. All users are set to USD by default, which will auto-fill when adding new Items. If you want to change your default currency, you can do so in the same place where you manage Locations.

Item Detail Page

When viewing a specific Item, you can now manage the Collections that Item belongs to under the “Collections” tab. Simply click the Add Item or Remove Item to add/remove the Item from a specific Collection.

Edit Item Page

We have changed the way you edit an Item by creating a dedicated page to update values rather than use the inline editor. The Item Detail page now has a larger “Edit Item” button in the top right which will take you to the Editing page. You can still manage Notes and Collections from both the Item Detail and the Item Edit pages.

Other Changes

The above are just a few of the changes we’ve made to the product. A full list of changes can be viewed here. Moving forward, we will continue to keep a change log available to keep you informed of the product’s updates.

Thank you for your continued support. If you have any ideas you would like us to consider, don’t hesitate to send us a note. We love feedback.

Take care and happy collecting.

Mitchell Adams
